Chroma Botanica: Ellie Irons & Linda Stillman showcases the work of two artists that use natural plant pigments in their artwork to explore wild and cultivated environments, as well as the complex relationships between people and plants. The show includes the artists’ ongoing personal work, as well as new companion pieces that utilize plant life and research gathered in New York City parks and public spaces over the past year.

This exhibition is free and open to the public.

The wood-chipped trail is uneven; please wear appropriate shoes. This ecosystem is a protected area and home to many flora and fauna. No groups, dogs, bikes, or strollers. Free and self-guided, no registration needed. Space is limited.

Hallett Nature Sanctuary is the smallest of the park's three woodland landscapes. Closed to the public in 1934, the Hallett Nature Sanctuary remained mostly untouched until 2001, when Central Park Conservancy took up a more comprehensive program of restoration and maintenance. Now, visitors can use the rustic trail to view native plantings that attract birds and other wildlife. Join our guides for this exclusive tour of the Hallett Nature Sanctuary, open to visitors only on Central Park Conservancy guided tours and during limited open hours.

The tour route involves wood-chipped trails and some hills. The tour starts and ends in front of the José Martí statue (Central Park South at Sixth Avenue)

This tour is bound to give visitors a new appreciation for this special space in Central Park. Route involves a few stairs.

The last Saturday of the month tour is free with registration.

Tours take place rain or shine, except in extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, sustained winds of 30mph or more, snowstorms, and a wind chill below 25 or heat index above 95 degrees).

Did you know that the north end of Central Park has a rich history that includes the British having been stationed here during the American Revolution, and American troops stationed there during the War of 1812? Recent archaeological and historical investigations in the area have revealed even more information about how the "Fort Landscape" was used in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, before this area was part of Central Park. This season, join our guides and learn the history of this part of the Park, get insight into the studies in the area, and appreciate the recent restorations undertaken by the Conservancy.

Highlights of this tour include McGowan's Pass, Fort Clinton, Nutter's Battery, and the Harlem Meer.

The tour route involves many hills and stairs, and some uneven terrain. The tour starts at Charles A. Dana Discovery Center (inside the park at 110th Street between Fifth and Lenox Avenues), and ends near the park perimeter at 106th Street and Fifth Avenue.

Each summer on Saturday morning for the past 60 years, New Yorkers of all ages have listened to Andersen's tales and other stories, folktales, and fairytales from around the world told by a group of brilliant storytellers at the Hans Christian Andersen Statue in Central Park. This landmark New York event continues this summer, with storytelling happening every Saturday from June through September.

On June 4, Danish Consul General, A.D. Riggelsen, will lead the 60th Anniversay Opening Celebration. Therese Plair will share the H.C. Andersen story "Princess and the Pea", accompanied by a violinist, and Rolf Stand and Mary Ann Schmidt will share the stories "The Emperor's New Clothes" and "Storm Child".

Storytelling is held rain or shine. The stories are appropriate for children six years old and older. Parents or guardians are asked to sit with their children.

This free program is funded by the Hans Christian Andersen Story Telling Center, Inc.

The last Saturday of the month tour is free with registration.

Tours take place rain or shine, except in extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, sustained winds of 30mph or more, snowstorms, and a wind chill below 25 or heat index above 95 degrees).

Each summer on Saturday morning for the past 60 years, New Yorkers of all ages have listened to Andersen tales and other stories, folktales, and fairytales from around the world told by a group of brilliant storytellers at the Hans Christian Andersen Statue in Central Park. This landmark New York event continues this summer with storytelling happening every Saturday from June through September.

On June 11, Bill Gordh will share the Icelandic story "The Magical Cow" and Navida Stein will share the Egyptian story "The Well of Truth".

Storytelling is held rain or shine. The stories are appropriate for children six years old and up. Parents or guardians are asked to sit with their children.

This free program is funded by the Hans Christian Andersen Story Telling Center, Inc.

The last Saturday of the month tour is free with registration.

Recent archaeological and historical investigations in the area have revealed even more information about how the "Fort Landscape" was used in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, before this area was part of Central Park. This season, join our guides and learn the history of this part of the park, get insight into the studies in the area, and appreciate the recent restorations undertaken by the Conservancy.

Highlights of this tour include McGowan's Pass, Fort Clinton, Nutter's Battery, and the Harlem Meer.

Each summer on Saturday morning for the past 60 years, New Yorkers of all ages have listened to Andersen tales and other stories, folktales, and fairytales from around the world told by a group of brilliant storytellers at the Hans Christian Andersen Statue in Central Park. This landmark New York event continues this summer, with storytelling happening every Saturday from June through September.

Jeannine Laverty will share the Grimm Brothers story "Seven Ravens" and Jack McKeon will share the American story "Wiley and the Hairy Man".

Storytelling is held rain or shine. The stories are appropriate for children six years old and up. Parents or guardians are asked to sit with their children.

From a magnificent iron gate made in 1894 to a sculptural tribute to The Secret Garden, Central Park Conservancy staff takes you on a guided stroll amid thousands of trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals that bloom throughout the year. Learn about Conservatory Garden's history, design, and botanical specimens, from the professionals who care for it. This tour is bound to give visitors a new appreciation for this special space in Central Park. Route involves a few stairs.

The last Saturday of the month tour is free with registration.

Tours take place rain or shine, except in extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, sustained winds of 30mph or more, snowstorms, and a wind chill below 25 or heat index above 95 degrees).

Did you know that the north end of Central Park has a rich history that includes the British having been stationed here during the American Revolution, and American troops stationed there during the War of 1812? Recent archaeological and historical investigations in the area have revealed even more information about how the "Fort Landscape" was used in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, before this area was part of Central Park. This season, join our guides and learn the history of this part of the park, get insight into the studies in the area, and appreciate the recent restorations undertaken by the Conservancy.

Highlights of this tour include McGowan's Pass, Fort Clinton, Nutter's Battery, and the Harlem Meer.

The tour route involves many hills and stairs, and some uneven terrain. The tour starts at Charles A. Dana Discovery Center (inside the park at 110th Street between Fifth and Lenox Avenues), and ends near the park perimeter at 106th Street and Fifth Avenue.

Each summer, Central Park Conservancy hosts a series of eco-education and multicultural performances for the whole family to enjoy. Formerly known as A Clearing in the Forest, this year's Family Performance Festival is chock-a-block full of fun and learning through music, storytelling, park adventures, puppetry, and more!

Get up and get moving to Aly Sunshine and the Funkytown Playground's playful and educational melodies and song lyrics. Use your body language and follow the directed movements in a unique learning experience. Be a bee and sing along as you learn how to be responsible park stewards. Programs are between 60 and 90 minutes long.

This family-friendly program is free. All ages are welcome. Please let us know you’re coming.

Now, visitors can use the rustic trail to view native plantings that attract birds and other wildlife. From a magnificent iron gate made in 1894 to a sculptural tribute to The Secret Garden, Central Park Conservancy staff takes you on a guided stroll amid thousands of trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals that bloom throughout the year. Learn about Conservatory Garden's history, design, and botanical specimens, from the professionals who care for it. This tour is bound to give visitors a new appreciation for this special space in Central Park. Route involves a few stairs.

The last Saturday of the month tour is free with registration.

Tours take place rain or shine, except in extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, sustained winds of 30mph or more, snowstorms, and a wind chill below 25 or heat index above 95 degrees).

Groups of seven or more must schedule a custom tour three weeks in advance at tours@centralparknyc.org.

Coined the 'wild garden' by designer Frederick Law Olmsted, the Ramble offers visitors a tranquil spot to meander along winding paths and discover hidden forest gardens. This truly is a place for the urban explorer to escape the city and get lost in nature.

Join us for a tour of this serene 36-acre woodland, led by Central Park Conservancy guides. Highlights of this tour include: the Lake, Bow Bridge, Ramble Arch, Oak Bridge, the Gill, and Azalea Pond.

The tour route involves hills, stairs, wood-chipped trails, and uneven terrain. The tour starts at Belvedere Castle (mid-Park at 79th Street) ends at Oak Bridge (West Side of the Ramble between 77th and 78th Streets).

Each summer on Saturday morning for the past 60 years, New Yorkers of all ages have listened to Andersen tales and other stories, folktales, and fairytales from around the world told by a group of brilliant storytellers at the Hans Christian Andersen Statue in Central Park. This landmark New York event continues this summer, with storytelling happening every Saturday from June through September.

Megan Wells will share the Nordic story "Myth of the Midnight Sun" and Robin Bady will share the H.C. Andersen story "Bettle's Journey".

Storytelling is held rain or shine. The stories are appropriate for children six years old and up. Parents or guardians are asked to sit with their children.

This free program is funded by the Hans Christian Andersen Story Telling Center, Inc.

Highlights of this tour include: Sheep Meadow, the Mall, Bethesda Terrace, Bow Bridge, the Ramble, and Belvedere Castle.

The tour route involves hills and stairs. The tour starts at the Dairy Visitor Center (mid-Park at 65th Street), and ends at Belvedere Castle (mid-Park at 79th Street)
