Ernesto has exhibited at various galleries in New York City and Connecticut. He has won awards throughout the years including, the 15th Annual Brio Award, from the Bronx Council on The Arts, and First Prize in Bohemia Beers Kahlo Challenge, in which his painting became part of Bohemia Beer’s permanent collection. Audubon New York’s For the Birds! Program is looking for volunteer teachers for all five boroughs of NYC. For the Birds! is an elementary education program that teaches environmental awareness and appreciation of nature through the study of birds. During a 4, 8 or 16-week session, public and private school students in grades 2 through 4 learn about their natural environment through classroom lessons, outdoor field trips, and a conservation project designed to improve bird habitat in the local community. For the Birds! exposes students, usually for the first time, to the idea that their own neighborhoods provide valuable habitat to birds and other urban wildlife. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Rich Santangelo, For the Birds! Education Program Manager: rsantangelo@audubon.org 212-979-3077. Join NYC Parks and the New York City Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment for a free film!

This animated adaptation of the hugely popular video-game series follows three avian friends as they put their anger to good use by fighting back against a hostile force. Red (voiced by Jason Sudeikis), Chuck (Josh Gad), and Bomb (Danny McBride) are all outcasts who don't quite fit in on Bird Island, a community of flightless fowl who pride themselves on staying positive and cheerful at all times. The trio hit it off after meeting at an anger-management class, and are the only birds who seem even remotely suspicious when a group of green pigs arrive on their island.

You should arrive before 7:00 p.m. to get your spot. Feel free to bring a blanket to sit on, although there will be a limited supply of chairs available. Bottled waters are OK, but no glass. Reservations are not taken, so space is available on a first come first served basis. All are welcome!

His paintings have appeared in newspapers and magazines such as the New York Times, Manhattan Arts International, Manhattan Times, the Advocate, and the Greenwich Times.

It is an authentic picture of a merchant prince’s life, who helped to make New York the greatest city in the world today.”

Frances Mayes is a 35-year-old San Francisco writer whose perfect life has just taken an unexpected detour. Her recent divorce has left her with terminal writer's block and extremely depressed. Her best friend, Patti, is beginning to think that she might never recover. "Dr. Patti's" prescription: 10 days in Tuscany. It's there, on a whim, that Frances purchases a villa named Bramasole--literally, "something that yearns for the sun." The home needs much restoration, but what better place for a new beginning than the home of the Renaissance? Even as she stumbles forward on her uncertain journey, one thing becomes clear: in life, there are second chances. Rated PG-13

THE GIRLS IN THE BAND tells the poignant, untold stories of female jazz and big band instrumentalists and their fascinating, groundbreaking journeys from the late 30s to the present day. These incredibly talented women endured diminished opportunities for decades, yet continued to persevere, inspire and elevate their talents in a field that seldom welcomed them. Today, there is a new breed of gifted young women taking their rightful place in the world of jazz, which can no longer deny their talents. Directed by Judy Chaikin. Throughout history, scarecrows have been the guardians of gardens. Sculptor and artist Ray Villafane returns to New York Botanical Garden to create an original installation that explores the evolution of the scarecrow in the United States, from its everyday role in agriculture to its status as a cultural icon in films and comic books.

This art display, presented by the Tri State Cadillac Dealers, features larger-than-life sculptures crafted from natural materials and set amidst the Garden’s landscape.

Explore the detailed display during the day, discover its surprises after dark, and enjoy special experiences on select dates from Cadillac.
