Bring a blanket, chair and a friend and enjoy a Hitchcock film. This movie is held outdoors and it's FREE!

While having lunch at the Plaza Hotel in New York, advertising executive Roger O. Thornhill (Cary Grant) has the bad luck to call for a messenger just as a page goes out for a "George Kaplan." From that moment, Thornhill finds that he has stepped into a nightmare -- he is quietly abducted by a pair of armed men out of the hotel's famous Oak Room and transported to a Long Island estate; there, he is interrogated by a mysterious man (James Mason) who, believing that Roger is George Kaplan, demands to know what he knows about his business and how he has come to acquire this knowledge. Roger, who knows nothing about who any of these people are, can do nothing but deny that he is Kaplan or that he knows what they're talking about.

A scrawny rat named Remy (voice of Patton Oswalt) finds his dreams of culinary superstardom stirring up sizable controversy in the kitchen of a fine French restaurant in director Brad Bird's madcap computer-animated comedy. It's hard being a rat with culinary aspirations, but Remy is convinced he has what it takes to break the stereotypes and follow in the footsteps of star chef Auguste Gusteau (voice of Brad Garrett). As fate would have it, Remy is currently situated in the sewers directly beneath Gusteau's elegant restaurant. Soon Remy teams up with a young chef with little talent named Linguini (voice of Lou Romano). Together they are able to create some fabulous dishes, but they live in fear that someone will discover their secret and object strenuously to a rat being in a kitchen. Rated G.

Finally, his captors force a bottle of bourbon into Roger and put him behind the wheel of a car on a dangerous downhill stretch. Through sheer luck and the intervention of a police patrol car and its driver (John Beradino), Roger survives the ride and evades his captors, and is booked for drunk driving. He's unable to persuade the court, the county detectives, or even his own mother (Jesse Royce Landis) of the truth of his story, however -- Thornhill returns with them to the mansion where he was held, only to find any incriminating evidence cleaned up and to learn that the owner of the house is a diplomat, Lester Townsend (Philip Ober), assigned to the United Nations.

Come to Van Cortlandt House Museum this summer and embark on an adventure back in time at our Summer History Camp. Your child will learn about the Van Cortlandt family’s and New York City’s important roles in the formation of our country all while having fun.

Campers are immersed in the everyday life of a child in 18th century as they wear period clothing, and make and play 18th century toys and games. Typical chores such as churning butter, cooking, gathering wood, and hauling water are all part of the full History Camp experience.

Children will also travel in time back to the early years of the Revolutionary War and experience the life of a soldier in General George Washington’s army. They will lend a hand with pitching tents and setting up camp. “Enlistment” in the army, military drill, and reconnaissance, are also part of the action.

Camp is lead by Van Cortlandt House Museum’s professional staff, talented living history volunteers, and college students studying material culture and art education. Daily activities for Adventures in Time Summer History Camp are designed in keeping with New York State fourth grade curriculum standards and are appropriate for children ages six to 12.

Adventures in Time Summer History Camp is open to all children with a sense of adventure who have completed second, third, fourth, and fifth grade (or the equivalent) in the spring of 2016. We encourage early enrollment, as camp space is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Van Cortlandt House Museum is owned by NYC Parks, operated by The National Society of Colonial Dames in the State of New York, and is a member of The Historic House Trust of New York City.

This photo exhibit is the result of a "people to people" cultural exchange in which the artist participated last October. The artist and group visited Havana, Cienfuegos, and Trinidad. Music and art were everywhere and the crumbling Spanish architecture made for some interesting images. The various images convey his impressions of Cuba and the Cuban people in an apolitical manner. The recent presidential visit and talk of lifting the embargo lend context to the images.

The Lenape Gallery at the Conference House Park Visitor Center will open a unique exhibition, featuring artist Randi Ehrhart.

Regeneration is a three-dimensional installation featuring hundreds of entomology-based miniature sculpted works constructed from dead branches, dried leaves, and other barren, hollow, empty, and vacant organic material found primarily in the Northeast United States.

Born in New York City, Ehrhart studied art at Queens College in Flushing, New York, and worked as a professional bench jeweler in the Bowery. A widow, mother of three grown sons and a recent grandmother, Ehrhart has dedicated her life and work by establishing herself as a conduit connecting nature and art in a fresh new light.

The Lenape Gallery is pleased to launch Regeneration, the first solo exhibit by Randi Ehrhart. This exhibition beautifully combines her innovative work with fascinating aspects of her life and process. The exhibit will be extended through 9-4-16.

For further information, please contact Frank Gessner at (718) 227-1463 or email francis.gessner@parks.nyc.gov.

Marking Socrates Sculpture Park’s 30th anniversary this year, the institution presents Landmark, a series of artist commissions and projects that transforms the land both physically and symbolically. Once an industrial landfill and illegal dumping ground, Socrates has transformed itself into New York City’s preeminent sculpture park and social space for public art, community engagement and urban discovery. Landmark directly addresses the idea of place as intimately tied to social and ecological structures, to maintenance and stewardship, and to evolution over time.

Landmark features eight different artist projects including a newly commissioned major earthwork by Meg Webster. Additional artists in the exhibition include Abigail DeVille, Brendan Fernandes, Cary Leibowitz, Jessica Segall, Casey Tang, the curatorial collective ARTPORT_making waves, and a Broadway Billboard by Hank Willis Thomas. Since its inception in 1986, Socrates and the surrounding area of Queens, New York has rapidly changed. Whether by engaging directly with the land or commenting on the neighborhood’s cultural and economic shifts, each artwork in Landmark reflects historic transformations in the making.

Did you know that the north end of Central Park has a rich history that includes the British having been stationed here during the American Revolution, and American troops stationed there during the War of 1812? Recent archaeological and historical investigations in the area have revealed even more information about how the "Fort Landscape" was used in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, before this area was part of Central Park. This season, join our guides and learn the history of this part of the park, get insight into the studies in the area, and appreciate the recent restorations undertaken by the Conservancy.

Highlights of this tour include McGowan's Pass, Fort Clinton, Nutter's Battery, and the Harlem Meer.

The tour route involves many hills and stairs, and some uneven terrain. The tour starts at Charles A. Dana Discovery Center (inside the park at 110th Street between Fifth and Lenox Avenues), and ends near the park perimeter at 106th Street and Fifth Avenue.

For weather cancellation and other ticket policies, please review the Central Park Conservancy's policies carefully.

Groups of seven or more must schedule a custom tour three weeks in advance at tours@centralparknyc.org.For more information, please review the Frequently Asked Questions.

About Brooklyn Bridge Park's Movies With a View
Movies with a View is a summer must that has earned a large and loyal following. Since its launch in 2000, we’ve wowed, entertained, thrilled, and pulled at the heartstrings of over 340,000 moviegoers, making our program one of New York City’s favorite summer film series. Movies with a View takes place every Thursday evening in July and August. In 2016, the eight-week series will draw an average of 7,000 film fans at each screening. There is no better place to be on a hot summer night than watching a classic film and enjoying the breeze off of the East River from your perch under the Brooklyn Bridge with the dazzling Manhattan skyline before you.

Viva Las Vegas, one of Elvis Presley's most popular vehicles, adheres as rigidly to formula as a Kabuki dance. Elvis plays a race-car driver competing in the Las Vegas Grand Prix opposite his principal rival, Cesare Danova. To finance his entry, Elvis takes a job as a casino waiter. Naturally, he is occasionally prevailed upon to sing, making one wonder why he didn't choose this talent as a means of making some quick cash. As always, Elvis chases all the wrong girls, only to ignore the "right" one, portrayed by Ann-Margret in her considerable youthful prime.

Teenaged Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) is a legend in his own time thanks to his uncanny skill at cutting classes and getting away with it. Intending to make one last grand duck-out before graduation, Ferris calls in sick, "borrows" a Ferrari, and embarks on a one-day bacchanal through the streets of Chicago. Dogging Ferris' trail at every turn is high-school principal Rooney (Jeffrey Jones), determined to catch Bueller in the act of class-cutting. Writer/director John Hughes once again tries to wed satire, slapstick, and social commentary, as Ferris Bueller's Day Off starts like a house afire and goes on to make "serious" points about status-seeking and casual parental cruelties. It brightens up considerably in the last few moments, when Ferris' tattletale sister (Jennifer Grey) decides to align herself with her merry prankster sibling.
