Piano in Bryant Park is produced in partnership with the Local 802 of the American Federation of Musicians, Sam Ash Music Stores, Jazz Center of New York, and Music Performance Trust Fund.

The piano is located on the Upper Terrace, at the base of the William Cullen Bryant statue, between the Bryant Park Grill and Bryant Park Cafe.

Join BronxWorks' Second Saturdays and NYC Parks for a special jazz concert by the UpBeat NYC orchestra.

UpBeat NYC is a not-for-profit South Bronx community-based organization that uses the pursuit of musical excellence and ensemble performance to bring about positive change in the lives of South Bronx children and youth. UpBeat provides year-round after school and summer programming for 150 participants ages 0 to 21. All activities and instruments are provided free of charge. Current ensembles include two symphony orchestras, Latin jazz big band, small jazz ensemble, instrumental chamber ensembles, children’s choirs, and parent choir.

The new season opens with the return of the Sinfonietta of Riverdale, the first of ten concerts that feature classical, jazz, and popular American music. Time Out New York declares the Sinfonietta to be “off the hook fabulous”. Under the direction of maestro Mark Mandarano, the chamber orchestra opens the 2016–2017 season with a program featuring Lunastella Fuga, a work commissioned by the Sinfonietta and composed by the Bronx’s own Oliver Caplan, works by Husa and Corigliano, and Tchaikovsky’s beloved Serenade for Strings.
