Join the NYC Parks Stewardship Team for a special edition of our monthly Sunset Park Green Neighborhood events!

This month volunteers will be doing wetland restoration at Bush Terminal. Volunteers will get the opportunity to plant shrubs into the restored wetland area. They will also learn a lot about the importance of this wetlands in Sunset Park.

Volunteers are reminded to dress appropriately in long pants, closed-toed shoes, and clothes that can get dirty. Volunteers are asked to bring their own water bottles. All volunteers younger than 18 years old must be accompanied by a chaperone.

Coastal Cleanup Volunteers give back to the community by helping us remove hundreds of pounds of trash from Pier 1 salt marshes and beaches. Scheduled times are according to low tides, from May to October.

Volunteer with the Stewardship Team for our Fall Citywide Stewardship Day! Volunteers will help restore and maintain natural areas all across the city.

This event is also a part of our monthly Green Neighborhood series.

Volunteers will learn how to identify and safely remove various invasive species. They will also have the unique opportunity to do some seeding in the park to help restore the forest.

Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes, long pants, and clothing that can get dirty. Please bring your own water bottle. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone.

The Green Team provides essential horticultural care to Brooklyn Bridge Park, including planting, mulching, and removing invasive plants. The Green Team is a wonderful opportunity to learn about gardening, enjoying nature, and making the park look its best.

All volunteers must fill out a waiver onsite and submit it before any activity begins. Volunteers 18 years old or younger should submit their waiver signed by a parent or guardian; volunteers 16 years old or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No experience necessary.
