Karen " KayLove" Pedrosa is a Bronx born and based artist. She was inspired by the rolling museums the trains provided, roof murals, tags and colors that brightened up the Bronx. As a graduate of High School of Art & Design, she continued to study painting at Lehman College. Her work is colorful, passionate and loose. Her style draws from the streets, culture and her emotions; impulsive, vibrant and raw.

Nelson "Host One" Santiago was born in Spanish Harlem and raised in the Bronx. He became captivated by urban hip hop culture and immersed himself into the world of graffiti art. It was at this time that “Host One” emerged unto the cityscape. Throughout the following decade, Nelson, aka Host One, actively engaged in Wild Style pieces as well as street bombing on a myriad of metropolitan “canvases”.

Visit the Wyckoff Farmhouse this winter for a free family day!

While our public tours on Fridays and Saturdays are normally geared for an adult audience, we’ve planned engaging, kid-friendly tours, hands-on activities, scavenger hunts, and more on select Saturdays. If the weather’s nice, bring a picnic and enjoy our grounds before or after your visit to the house.

If you plan to visit with children under 10, we recommend visiting before 2 p.m. to take advantage of specially planned activities for younger children.

The three-acre Heather Garden is the site of our annual rite of spring—the Shearing of the Heather by members of the Northeast Heather Society and Heather Garden staff.

Bring your musical instruments and join in our community parade through the Heather Garden. Learn why Fort Tryon Park has the largest heath and heather collection in the northeast, and learn how to propogate your own heathers with clippings from the shearing. Participate in a scavenger hunt, make flower-themed crafts, and get your face painted while enjoying the garden’s spring beauty and panoramic views of the Hudson River and Palisades!
