Enjoy a whole day of family fun on the High Line! Get your hands dirty in our mobile garden, create a large-scale art installation with an artist, hear stories from everyone's favorite librarian, design custom-made structures with the Children's Workyard Kit, and watch an outrageous variety show with the performers of Whoop Dee Doo! Each month features a different theme for the Make It! series.

In May, our first program of the series will kick off exploring how plants grow on the High Line.

Schedule of activities
10:00 p.m. – 11:00 a.m.: Storytime with Librarian Amalia Butler - for ages 0 to 5 years old
11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Ongoing activities - mobile garden, art project, and building activity
Noon – 12:30 p.m.: Variety Show by Whoop Dee Doo
1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.: Variety Show by Whoop Dee Doo (repeat)

A family guide of the park will be available online and throughout the day.

All children must be attended by a caregiver at all times.

About Sing For Hope Pianos: For two weeks in June, Sing for Hope brings stunningly painted pianos – each a unique piece of art created by a different artist – to New York City’s parks, streets, and public spaces for anyone and everyone to play. The Sing for Hope Pianos inspire community engagement.

Tour historic buildings, including the New York State Pavilion, Queens Theatre, Queens Museum, and more. Enjoy exhbits and memorabilia from the 1939 and 1964 World's Fairs, and food and crafts from the Queens International Night Market. And have #OnlyInQueens family-friendly fun, with a scavenger hunt, a guest appearance from Mr. Met, and more!

At 4:30 p.m., City Parks Foundation's SummerStage will present a concert, featuring Ginuwine, Mack Wilds, & Kid ‘n Play, with music from Queens' DJ Camilo.
