Participants receive step-by-step instructions; no previous carpentry skills required, but participants must attend both sessions.

The second day of this two-session series is Sunday, January 27, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Kids will learn about the various parts of trees and their functions and will use parts of trees to make a craft to take home! The program concludes with a walk through the Pinetum.

Please dress for the weather. Recommended for 4-10-year-olds, but all are welcome to attend.

Registration is required.
Ticket includes one child. Please purchase separate tickets for multiple children. These are not drop-off programs; each child must be accompanied by one adult. Drop-ins are welcome upon availability. This is part of the Winter Family Programs Saturday series. Sign up for a single session or all four for a discounted package of $40 per child. Bring the whole family and experience winter’s splendor with indoor garden activities and an outdoor nature walk.

Along the way, you’ll learn about the simple tools of the craft, as well as various alternatives, so you get to know what you’ll want to have in your very own toolbox.

Any time you fold a piece of paper, you're crafting. And there are surprisingly many ways to fold a piece of paper. Whether you're a total newbie or a seasoned crafter, there'll be something for everyone. We'll cover basic skills, tips-and-tricks, and some surprising techniques. Along the way, you’ll learn about the simple tools of the craft, as well as various alternatives, so you get to know what you’ll want to have in your very own toolbox.

All ages are welcome. Must be able to use scissors! Students are encouraged to bring their own tools and supplies.

Any time you fold a piece of paper, you're crafting. And there are surprisingly many ways to fold a piece of paper. Whether you're a total newbie or a seasoned crafter, there'll be something for everyone. We'll cover basic skills, tips-and-tricks, and some surprising techniques. Along the way, you’ll learn about the simple tools of the craft, as well as various alternatives, so you get to know what you’ll want to have in your very own toolbox.

All ages are welcome. Must be able to use scissors! Students are encouraged to bring their own tools and supplies.

Join us as we partner with the Art Students League for this series of art workshops where you will learn the foundations of what makes up a graphic novel or comic. We will cover composition, image, and text relationships as well as lighting.

All supplies will be provided. No experience necessary. The workshops are for ages 18 years old and older.

About the Artist: Maurice Buckley is an illustrator, sculptor, storyteller, and educator. He also works from home as a comic book artist while looking to launch a comic book company with his colleagues and mentors.

Called the “Wizard of Tuskegee,” Dr. George Washington Carver made significant contributions in the field of botany. Learn how plants played a very important role in his early life and later achievements. Students will follow in Dr. Carver’s steps, using plants to paint and to create a healing lotion to take home.

Ticket includes one child. Please purchase separate tickets for multiple children. These are not drop-off programs; each child must be accompanied by one adult.
