Joining Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig in Despicable Me 3 is Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award winner Trey Parker, co-creator of Comedy Central’s global phenomenon South Park and the Broadway smash The Book of Mormon. Parker voices the role of villain Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who’s grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the ‘80s, and proves to be Gru’s most formidable nemesis to date.

This program offers a week long intensive for kids to participate in not only painting and drawing activities but also mask making, printmaking, comics and illustration and also drawing from life here at our beautiful park. This program is offered to not only inspire their creative minds but also teach them some new art practices and techniques. Each class also begins with a special outdoor yoga session. Arts & Movement camp is suitable for children ages 6-12.

Due to a generous grant from Columbia Presbyterians C.H.A.L.K program, all campers will receive a tuition scholarship, but there is a $5 registration fee per child. Campers must commit to a minimum of 4 days of this 5 day program.

Take a hike through the North Woods and learn how to tell a maple from an oak! Discover how trees - from seeds and leaves to logs - contribute to the health of an urban park woodland community.

Bring your family for a guided walk and discover why Central Park is a sanctuary for plants, animals, and humans alike. Learn about the architecture, landscapes, and ecosystems of the Park through hands-on exploration using Discovery Kits – rugged backpacks filled with kid-friendly binoculars, field guides, and hand lenses.

Meet: Charles A. Dana Discovery Center (inside the Park at 110th Street between Fifth and Lenox Avenues). Map of start location
Terrain: Uneven, with hills and stairs
Length of Tour: Approximately 90 minutes
Cost: Free. Space is limited, registration required. Families with children ages 5+ only; no groups, please. Please arrive at walk location 15 minutes before the start of the Discovery Walk to allow time for check in and to pick up Discovery Kits.

From everyday objects to invisible animals we will find all the ways that nature hides in plain sight in NYC. Come join us as we meet and touch live animals, and learn about what makes them unique. Be prepared to go on an adventure, hunting for nature tidbits along the paths of Fort Tryon Park!

  • Ages 6 and up. Maximum 30 participants.
  • Please email RSVP@FortTryonParkTrust.org to register. Crafts are included for the first 30 children with confirmed registration.
