Enjoy free yoga in Fort Greene Park in collaboration with the public artwork Circadia by Blythe Cain, which opens June 20. Bring a yoga mat, water, and sunscreen, and wear comfortable clothes. All levels are welcome!

This weekly class will take place on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. from June 3 to October 14 (except July 1 and September 2).

This free event is sponsored by lushretreats.com for Circadia!

Meet at the flag pole between the monument and Visitor's Center. This yoga class will take place on the lawn in front of the Ft. Greene Park Visitor Center. Circadia is an interactive luminescent sculpture and seating system made from concrete and glow sand, which acts as a guide to the park entrance. Resembling a historic building foundation, Circadia also mimics the park's rolling hills and the natural rhythms found in nature.

This exhibition and event are made possible by the Art in the Parks: UNIQLO Park Expressions Grant, which supports the creation of artworks by New York City-based emerging artists at 10 parks that are highly visible, but underserved by cultural programming. The UNIQLO grant program will transform these locations into engaging art destinations with a series of rotating exhibitions and community events through 2019.

For a breath of fresh air, take your workouts outdoors. Parks are becoming a logical alternative environment for those who want to add variety to their work outs, or who just don't like the gym. And, it's an affordable way to increase physical activity opportunities, because there's nothing special to build.

Exercise with a view, in natural sunlight, with green scenery all around bestows health benefits that can’t be found indoors. Scientific studies have shown that the pleasure of being outdoors for example gives your brain, psyche, and immune system an extra boost.

Please note: Fitness programs are canceled if the weather is lower than 20 degrees and when there are icy conditions. Saturday morning walks begin at 8:30 a.m.

Join us for our weekly evening hike where we will cover 4 or 5 miles. There are some small climbs but it's fairly easy. You will probably see parts of the Greenbelt and the trail system that you haven't seen before!

Dress for the weather and trail conditions. Bring water and a snack if you think you'll need it. No reservation is required. The hike is moderately paced; bring a headlamp along as it will begin to get dark out when we return! We go in all weather unless conditions are dangerous. Always check the Greenbelt Conservancy's Facebook page for updates on changes or cancellations.

In honor of World Food Day, Socrates Sculpture Park, Queens Action Council (QuAC), and City Harvest are hosting a fun, interactive, and educational day of learning, cooking, eating, advocacy, and wellness.

Explore and become a part of the landscape of food justice in Northwest Queens with a variety of community organizations sharing knowledge and resources on nutrition education, food affordability and accessibility, urban farming, planting and gardening, sustainability, and healthy living.

Participating partners include GrowNYC, NYC Compost Project at Big Reuse, Allergic to Salad, Smiling Hogshead Ranch, and Spice Tree Organics.

Join us for activities, conversations, cooking demos, community building, performances like Lauren Hale Biniaris’ dance work-in-process ‘Hungry’ which explores the complicated world of food politics, and more!

Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture will also be activating the Park with site-specific performance from 1-5 PM. !

Join the Village Community Boathouse for Community Rowing in traditional Whitehall gigs, captained by experienced New York Harbor coxswains. The Village Community Boathouse offers free community rowing on Sundays at noon and on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., through November 12, 2017.

Community rowing is free and open to all; no experience or reservations necessary, and lifejackets will be provided. Children (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent. For every rower under 12 one parent or adult guardian must be present. All participants must sign a liability waiver.

Please note: You must arrive at noon, as the Village Community Boathouse pair their boats, coxswains, and rowers by 12:30. Boats leave right after for the afternoon. Please check the Villiage Community Boathouse's social media feeds on Facebook or Twitter for possible last-minute changes due to weather or other circumstances. Or, call (212) 229-2059.

About Free Community Rowing
The Community Rows are free sessions that include a basic introduction to rowing for first timers (safety orientation, rowing technique, and terminology) and of course plenty of actual rowing on the Hudson River. The rows take place in five-person wooden rowboats that Village Community Boathouse builds onsite. The rows last, depending on river conditions and rower level experience, between one and three hours.Most of these rows have mixed crews with those that have never been on the river before and some old hands. Join us for our weekly evening hike where we will cover 4 or 5 miles. There are some small climbs but it's fairly easy. You will probably see parts of the Greenbelt and the trail system that you haven't seen before!

Dress for the weather and trail conditions. Bring water and a snack if you think you'll need it. No reservation is required. The hike is moderately paced; bring a headlamp along as it will begin to get dark out when we return! We go in all weather unless conditions are dangerous. Always check the Greenbelt Conservancy's Facebook page for updates on changes or cancellations.

Join us for our weekly evening hike where we will cover 4 or 5 miles. There are some small climbs but it's fairly easy. You will probably see parts of the Greenbelt and the trail system that you haven't seen before!

Dress for the weather and trail conditions. Bring water and a snack if you think you'll need it. No reservation is required. The hike is moderately paced; bring a headlamp along as it will begin to get dark out when we return! We go in all weather unless conditions are dangerous. Always check the Greenbelt Conservancy's Facebook page for updates on changes or cancellations.

Join the Village Community Boathouse for Community Rowing in traditional Whitehall gigs, captained by experienced New York Harbor coxswains. The Village Community Boathouse offers free community rowing on Sundays at noon and on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., through November 12, 2017.

Community rowing is free and open to all; no experience or reservations necessary, and lifejackets will be provided. Children (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent. For every rower under 12 one parent or adult guardian must be present. All participants must sign a liability waiver.

Please note: You must arrive at noon, as the Village Community Boathouse pair their boats, coxswains, and rowers by 12:30. Boats leave right after for the afternoon. Please check the Villiage Community Boathouse's social media feeds on Facebook or Twitter for possible last-minute changes due to weather or other circumstances. Or, call (212) 229-2059.

About Free Community Rowing
The Community Rows are free sessions that include a basic introduction to rowing for first timers (safety orientation, rowing technique, and terminology) and of course plenty of actual rowing on the Hudson River. The rows take place in five-person wooden rowboats that Village Community Boathouse builds onsite. The rows last, depending on river conditions and rower level experience, between one and three hours.Most of these rows have mixed crews with those that have never been on the river before and some old hands. Participants will construct a tower of blocks using blocks from imagination playground. While they build the tower they are simultaneously climbing the blocks. The challenge is to create and climb the highest tower before it all comes crashing down. The higher they ascend, the more unstable the structure becomes.The winner is the one that stacks the most blocks vertically. This can be followed by a team challenge where pairs help each other climb.

For ages 10-16. All participants must sign a waiver, and parents must be present at time of registration.

Join the Village Community Boathouse for Community Rowing in traditional Whitehall gigs, captained by experienced New York Harbor coxswains. The Village Community Boathouse offers free community rowing on Sundays at noon and on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., through November 12, 2017.

Community rowing is free and open to all; no experience or reservations necessary, and lifejackets will be provided. Children (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent. For every rower under 12 one parent or adult guardian must be present. All participants must sign a liability waiver.

Please note: You must arrive at noon, as the Village Community Boathouse pair their boats, coxswains, and rowers by 12:30. Boats leave right after for the afternoon. Please check the Villiage Community Boathouse's social media feeds on Facebook or Twitter for possible last-minute changes due to weather or other circumstances. Or, call (212) 229-2059.

About Free Community Rowing
The Community Rows are free sessions that include a basic introduction to rowing for first timers (safety orientation, rowing technique, and terminology) and of course plenty of actual rowing on the Hudson River. The rows take place in five-person wooden rowboats that Village Community Boathouse builds onsite. The rows last, depending on river conditions and rower level experience, between one and three hours.Most of these rows have mixed crews with those that have never been on the river before and some old hands. Join us for our weekly evening hike where we will cover 4 or 5 miles. There are some small climbs but it's fairly easy. You will probably see parts of the Greenbelt and the trail system that you haven't seen before!

Dress for the weather and trail conditions. Bring water and a snack if you think you'll need it. No reservation is required. The hike is moderately paced; bring a headlamp along as it will begin to get dark out when we return! We go in all weather unless conditions are dangerous. Always check the Greenbelt Conservancy's Facebook page for updates on changes or cancellations.
