Join LUNGS - Loisaida United Neighborhood Gardens on Earth Day for the 4th Annual Spring Awakening parade and party in the Lower East Side to welcome spring and celebrate the opening of their community gardens!

Beginning at 11:30 a.m., everyone will march from garden to garden around the neighborhood, visiting 20 gardens, and arriving about 1:30 p.m. at El Jardin del Paraiso Community Garden, where there will be music, refreshments, environmental workshops, games and other events.

Bring your smile, kids, music, and your dance; wear your costumes, and join the parade as it snakes Pied-Piper style through Loisaida. Spring Awakening is a touch of Mardi Gras, a taste of charivari, mudballs and seed swaps. Come join the circus, it's time to party!

Spring Awakening Route:
-Gardeners, neighbors and friends will gather at 11:30am on E.12th, at El Sol Brillante between Aves A & B.
-We will walk East on 12th St to Avenue C.
-We will walk south on Avenue C to 9th St.
