Description: To kick off the City Nature Challenge, join NYC Parks staff in removing invasive plants to help create a healthier ecosystem for our spring ephemeral wildflowers. Volunteers will learn how to identify and safely remove invasive plants, learn about the diversity of spring ephemerals in Alley Pond and learn how to make iNaturalist observations. If you do not know how to use iNaturalist, arrive 15 minutes early and we will show you how! Plan to wear a face mask. Space is limited and registration is required. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone. Registrants are encouraged to download the iNaturalist app onto their mobile device, prior to the event for an interactive experience.
