Meeting Location: Riding Stables Parking Lot

Description: To kick off the City Nature Challenge, join NYC Parks staff on a hike around Van Cortlandt Park to view and make iNaturalist observations of the wonderfully diverse spring ephemerals in the western side of the park. We will start the hike at the riding stables before exploring parts of the Northwest Forest. Please bring water and a snack, as well as your smartphone or camera! If you do not know how to use iNaturalist, arrive 15 minutes early and we will show you how! Plan to wear a face mask. Space is limited and registration is required. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone. Registrants are encouraged to download the iNaturalist app onto their mobile device, prior to the event for an interactive experience.
