Every week Urban Park Rangers are in our parks, helping adults and families experience the natural world in new and unexpected ways. To ensure that all New Yorkers have equal access to our free programs, we ask people to pre-register through a lottery for some of our most popular and unique programs.

About the Lottery

Choose a program below in order to enter the online lottery. You must have a valid email address to register for a program. If you do not have access to a computer, please reach out to a nearby Recreation Center, and ask about availability at its Computer Resource Center.

When to Register

If a program’s registration period is open, you will see a green box that reads “Sign up” next to the program title. You can enter your name and contact information, and include up to three other family members in your group.

Getting Selected

We will run the lottery once the registration period is closed, and email everyone who was selected in the lottery drawing. If you do not see an email, please check your “spam” or “junk mail” folders.

If you are not selected in the online lottery drawing, you will be added to the wait list for the program. We will contact you if space is available. Depending upon the program, you may also sign up for the wait list after the program registration period has ended.
