Community Input Meetings

Help us build a Bright Green Future

Community Parks Initiative

Our mission is to create thriving public spaces for all New Yorkers. Through the Community Parks Initiative, we are bringing that work to a neighborhood near you, by investing more City resources — money, staff, recreational programming and community partnership-building — in parks in communities that need it most. This initiative will engage New Yorkers in rebuilding their parks, create new reasons to get out and get fit, and reconnect more of us to the green spaces in our own neighborhoods.

Re-Imagining Parks

Through the Community Parks Initiative, we will spend $130 million to rebuild and re-imagine 35 community parks. We will upgrade playgrounds, ball courts, green spaces and more, using 21st-century designs and materials. To do this, we need your input and feedback on local needs, and your ideas on how each Community Parks Initiative park can better serve the neighborhood.

How To Participate

We’ll be holding public meetings in each of the participating parks. At the bottom of this page, you can RSVP to attend an upcoming public meeting. Visit our Community Parks Initiative page to learn more, and to see the full list of 35 parks chosen as Community Parks Initiative capital projects.

Online Comments

If you cannot attend a community input meeting in person, we still want to hear from you! After a community input meeting is held, we will open up online comments for a week.
