Show Up and Shape Up!

Shape Up NYC is a free group fitness program with locations across the five boroughs. Sign up below to take fitness classes like aerobics, bootcamp, Zumba, and much more. Our fitness instructors know how to make fitness fun!

Shape Up NYC is a free program. You do not need to be a member of a recreation center in order to attend a class, though you must bring a lock and a government-issued ID for classes held at recreation centers.

How to Join

Registration is required. Registration is open on a rolling week-to-week basis. Registration for each week's classes opens the day after the previous class took place (or on Monday for weekend classes) and lasts until the start of class. To register for a class, please tap/click on "Details"

Shape Up NYC Service Changes

This summer, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we're offering FREE outdoor Shape Up NYC classes with limited attendance so that you can have a safe and enjoyable time in parks. Based on New York State guidance for sports and recreation during COVID-19, we’ve put protocols into place to keep our participants and trainers safe and healthy. We're asking everyone to help us stay safe:

  • Stay home if you are sick
  • Maintain at least 10 feet of physical distance between households
  • Wear a face covering
  • Wash your hands

Additionally, we encourage participants to bring their own hand sanitizer to our classes. Programs may be modified, rescheduled or cancelled due to weather, health, or safety concerns.
