Enjoy the beach? So do nesting piping plovers. These tiny shorebirds, lighter than a beach ball, fly over 700 miles to nest at Rockaway Beach every year. Come meet the team from NYC Parks that is monitoring and protecting this endangered species. There will be family-friendly activities and wildlife viewing walks to raise awareness of these amazing shorebirds, as well as information on how we can all share the beach.
