Directions via Google Maps
This grassy lawn that abuts Hillside Avenue in Jamaica has belonged to the City since 1837, and was named for World War I hero Major John W. Mark in 1933 upon the park's opening. In the center of the park, a canopy of trees and circle of benches surround the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, a large bronze sculpture of an angel that was completed in 1896 and moved to Major Mark Park in 1960. On the western side of the park, you can find Wingdale, a large bright red abstract sculpture created in 1971 by artist Roger Bolomey.
