Members of Gowanus Swim Society arts collective will host a free pricing and budgeting workshop for artists at the Old Stone House on Sunday, January 20 at 2:00 p.m. Hosted as a conversation with exhibiting artists Suzy Koph and Mary Negro, this Sunday's workshop "The Price Is Right" is held in conjunction with Old Stone House's current contemporary art exhibit Processing, which includes work by the eight members of the Gowanus Swim Society, on view through Friday, February 15.

Please note: Space is limited; participants are encouraged to RSVP in advance.

Workshop facilitators welcome specific questions from artist participants about budget management and their own work. They aim to clarify how much artwork will cost to create, how to take advantage of grant opportunities and how to determine if work is priced too high or too low. Participants will receive step-by-step guidelines and personal mentoring.

Gowanus Swim Society is a select group of mostly Brooklyn-based artists who meet regularly, exhibit often and provide a forum for sharing information and artist resources. The artists function as a collective and hold monthly meetings during which they work together to accomplish common goals, hold one another accountable for personal progress through group crits, and acquire new skills from one another. They also host public social events and art exhibitions of their work throughout the year. They are always eager to collaborate with other artists and organizations to work towards common goals.
