As part of City of Water Day, a citywide celebration designed to foster appreciation for the importance of water around us, Wave Hill and Rocking the Boat are partnering with exhibiting artist Maya Ciarrocchi for a special drop-in workshop that takes place at Hunts Point Riverside Park (not at Wave Hill). Designed for people of all ages, this workshop invites participants to make their own cyanotypes, or sun prints, an alternative photographic process using sunlight and natural materials. In addition to making cyanotypes, participants are also invited to sail on The Bronx River with professional staff through Rocking the Boat.
This program takes place off-site at Rocking the Boat, located in Hunts Point Riverside Park at Lafayette Avenue & Edgewater Road, Bronx, NY. All materials will be provided by Wave Hill and Rocking the Boat.
This program is held in conjunction with Maya Ciarrocchi’s exhibition Muscata, Mosholu, Tibbetts Brook, on view in Wave Hill House from July 19 to December 5, 2022.
Registration is not required for this off-site, drop-in event.
