Please note: This event has already taken place. Please use the Search options on the right to find upcoming events.
Our Urban Park Rangers will be your guides to the solar system, discussing the science, history, and folklore of the universe. Astronomy programs feature the use of telescopes and binoculars to observe specific astronomical events. Equipment will be adapted for safe viewing of the night sky.
A special moon is arriving on Halloween. It's a blue moon and the first full moon on Halloween since 1944. Join us to see it as you learn about the stars and planets in our night sky.
Please note: We are offering outdoor programs with limited attendance so that you can have a safe and enjoyable time in parks. Based on New York State guidance for sports and recreation during COVID-19, we’ve put protocols into place to keep our participants and staff safe and healthy. We're asking everyone to help us stay safe:
- Stay home if you're sick
- Maintain six feet of physical distance between households
- Wear a face covering
- Wash your hands
Additionally, we encourage participants to bring their own hand sanitizer to our programs.
