About 130 million years ago, flowering plants appeared for the first time. Everyone likes flowers, but they aren't really for our enjoyment, their purpose is to attract insect pollinators.
Come hear Jim Fischer, Director of Education, NYC Beekeeping, talk about honey bees, bumble bees and the solitary bees that are found around Manhattan. See some of the Fischer’s stunning photographs taken over several decades of teaching beekeeping. Lean how to actually keep bees in the City, and how bees fit into the ecosystem of a community garden, a backyard, and Central Park.
Light refreshments will be served.
NYC Parks' Arts, Culture & Fun series offers a variety of cultural events, including, book signings, film screenings, art making workshops, dance, concerts, historical talks, food tastings and popular culture. All events are free and open to the public.
Space is limited. Please reserve your seat by emailing email@example.com.
