On Saturday, September 22, Astoria Park Alliance will bring its signature Shore Fest event back to Astoria Park. The event festivities will take place on the Main Lawn adjacent to the Bocce Court off Shore Boulevard with local sponsorship from Ridgewood Savings Bank.

The event has intentionally been scheduled for mid-September to take advantage of comfortable weather that late summer brings.

Live music will be performed on a main stage procured by The Alliance with a rotating set of local musicians from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., including The Fogo Azul Drumline, East River Blues Band, and more!

Shore Fest promises to bring fun for all ages with classic competitions like a watermelon eating contest, potato sack races, egg on a spoon and bean bag toss. Local Astoria retailers have donated generous gift prizes for Shore Fest participants.

Shore Fest will also be a place to learn a new skill or hobby like bocce, yoga, zumba, bird watching, and even improv acting.

A Donut eating contest for all ages will be supported by new Astoria donut shop Sugar & Water.  Kids will be encouraged to get their faces painted and enjoy assorted arts and crafts activities on the main lawn.

Astoria Park Alliance is celebrating its eleventh-year anniversary, and 2018 marks the organization's first full year as an official 501(c)(3) non-profit. APA welcomes the community to celebrate these achievements while connecting with other Astorians in enjoying the park’s beauty. Shore Fest is a free and fun festival that promises to close out the summer in style.

Attendees are encouraged to RSVP on Facebook and check social media for programming updates. In case of inclement weather, Shore Fest will proceed the following day.

Running TracksAstoria Park

The track at Astoria Park is currently closed for reconstruction as part of our Anchor Parks initiative to improve the quality of major parks across the city. While the track is under construction, we encourage you to join the New York Road Runners’ free weekly NYRR Open Run, which meets for walks and runs on Saturdays at 9:00 a.m. north of the parking lot, by the pool. You can also look for NYRR Mile Markers to track your distance along a measured course in the park. Please visit our Capital Projects Tracker for the latest on our construction progress.
