Observe and identify the diverse, native wildflowers and some common invasive plants along Cass Gallagher Nature Trail.

Van Cortlandt Park’s Northwest Woods contains some of the best examples of Oak-Tulip Tree Forests in New York City; we should see wild geranium, Solomon’s seal, and possibly wild pinks in bloom.  We will keep an eye out for white-tailed deer and woodland birds, as well! Helen will also describe the Natural Areas Conservancy’s Ecological Assessment Project which was piloted in Van Cortlandt Park last year.

Registration is required.
