RecYouth Program Participants Screen Original Digital Media Projects

Thursday, January 30, 2014
6:00 p.m.
The Arsenal in Central Park

NYC Parks will showcase the works of young media makers from throughout the city. The evening will highlight the diverse voices of young people using digital media to tell their stories, and celebrate the work that the NYC Parks Computer Resource Center’s RECYouth program is doing to support the development of these young voices.

RECYouth provides teens between 13 and 17 the opportunity to learn and build their media making skills in video, photography, audio, and graphic design. Participants learn and utilize industry standard software and equipment, explore key community issues, and are lead through the key stages of the media making process. This event is an opportunity for participants to exhibit the results of this learning and self exploration.

Celebrate the achievements of our young contributors to digital media production and learn about our enrollment process for the upcoming spring sessions.

Just a reminder that this is the last week to contribute towards our coat drive at The Arsenal! The New York Cares collection box is located directly in front of the reception desk in the Arsenal lobby. When donating, please keep in mind the following:

• We will only be collecting until January 31st
• Winter jackets and coats should be new or gently used
• New York Cares prefers that coats be laundered or dry cleaned before donating
• The value of any coat you donate is tax-deductible
• New York Cares will not accept sweaters, blankets, or other clothes

New York Cares is currently experiencing a severe shortage of coats, so let’s help them keep our fellow New Yorkers warm this cold winter! You can learn more about New York Cares and their annual winter coat drive by clicking here:

If you should have any questions or concerns, please contact Graham Fisk, Marketing Manager, at (212) 360-8216 or email

Thank you to everyone that has already donated and made this coat drive successful!
