This Weekend In Parks

Citywide Flag Football Championship

9:15 a.m.: Girls 14 and Under division

1:15 p.m.: 15-17 year old division

2:25 p.m.: 8-11 and 12-14 year old divisions

E. 161st between Macombs Dam Bridge and River Avenue in the Bronx

Boys and girls aged 8 to 17, in teams representing each borough, will compete in division championship games for the NYC Parks' Flag Football League, presented with support of the Police Athletic League. Trophies will be awarded immediately following each game.

The 2013 Flag Football League began in September with 69 teams -- roughly 800 participants -- citywide. Games took place on a weekly basis. The season will culminate in a five borough football championship.

The league is free to join, all equipment is provided, and no experience is required.

Partnerships for Parks 2013 Conference

New York University School of Law, 40 Washington Square South in Manhattan.

The conference will feature introductory remarks from Commissioner Veronica M. White, as well as keynote addresses by Holly Leicht, Executive Director of New Yorker for Parks and Steve Hindy, Co-Founder & President of Brooklyn Brewery and Founding Member of Open Space Alliance.

We will have distinguished speakers, moderators and guests including:
