This Weekend In Parks

We urge everyone to stay safe this weekend as the snowstorm affects New York City and the northeast region.

During times of heavy snowfall, NYC Parks may offer a snow day, which is a day of free organized recreation in selected parks throughout the city. Please check or call 311 to find out any details on if a snow day is in effect over the weekend.

You may also visit our website to find a selection of locations to sled inside of parks. Every neighborhood has its favorite sledding hill for the snowy season, but sometimes adventurous New Yorkers like to explore a new park or compare their slope to other popular ones in the city. Please note that while sledding is allowed in New York City parks, it is illegal to go sledding on golf courses.

“Snow provokes responses that reach right back to childhood.”
