Imagination Recreation

To help kids develop an understanding of listening and speaking; gain self confidence and getting along with others.  This program provides the structure that allows the students to grow and learn while feeling safe and comfortable. Students are given daily opportunities to explore and learn through appropriate toys and projects. Children will be encouraged to try to use their words to express their needs and wants.  The activities in the program including, arts and crafts, group songs, dances and storytelling, are developed to create learning experiences and social experiences through play, projects and activities.

Seniors can come into the fitness room on Mondays to learn how to utilize the fitness room equipmment without causing harm to themselves.  They will recevie assitance in putting together a routine that suits their needs. Progress cards will be issued so they can track their progress.

Participants will learn how to deal with emotions by using different techniques and exercises through drawing.  The two groups will explore a different arts specialty each week, working with the instructor to build their skills and foster their creativity over the course of twelve weeks. Throughout the week, different activities take place, balancing fun creative art with some activities taken place outdoors.  In the end an Art Showcase will be displayed in the facility to show friends and family the participant's hard work throughout the session.

National Senior Fitness Day

National Senior Fitness Day

Senior members and the community come out to celebrate choosing a healthier lifestyle.  Seniors participate in the first annual walk along the East River and engage in miscellaneous fitness activities.  Refreshments will be served.  Seniors should wear comfortable clothing and foot wear.  Consult with your physician prior to starting a fitness program.

New York City residents and NYC Parks members come together and get moving via Walk NYC.  All are welcome to join.  Comfortable clothes and footwear required.  Stretching is highly recommended before walking.  All participants should bring water and a towel.
