NYC Parks offers talented youths between the ages of 6 and 18 an opportunity to join a Parks swim team. Swimmers train for High Point Meets and the Borough Cup Championship.

Youth Learn To Swim

The Learn to Swim program offers free swim lessons for children (6-17) at our indoor pools.

Children ages 6 to 17 will learn beginner level skills such as how to safely get into and leave the water, how to control their breath by blowing bubbles, how to float and kick on front and back and move through the water. They will also learn how to stay safe around the water and what to do in case of an emergency. Children who already know these skills will learn to move their arms and legs together in a swimming motion.
