at Oakwood Beach (in Great Kills Park), Staten Island
10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Join NYC H2O along with the National Resources Protective Association for a volunteer cleanup at Oakwood Beach! Oakwood Beach and adjoining wetlands deal with a double-edged sword of being a secret to most of Staten island. While the wildlife holds strong, the few people that are around, and the close proximity to a waste plant, brings in a huge amount of trash. The site holds one of the highest density populations of Osprey seen on the Island - including Fresh Kills. The cleanup will run from 10am to 12:00pm. Gloves, garbage bags and pickers will be provided. Please wear your mask!
