We're excited the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival is back this year!  Join NYC Parks Arts, Culture & Fun and the Charlie Parker Festival, for a jazz concert with the David Schnitter Quintet.

The esteemed tenor saxophonist David Schnitter is well known for his work with Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers, Frank Foster, and Richard "Groove" Holmes, as well as with Charlie Parker's bandmate Red Rodney. An accomplished bandleader with ten albums to his name, today he brings a special band featuring Marti Mabin on vocals.

Stay after the concert for a screening of Mary Lou Williams: The Lady Who Swings the Band (2015).  Directed by Carol Bash. A feature documentary on the life and music of this renowned jazz pianist, composer and arranger.
