We are delighted to welcome Ballet Folklórico Mexicano de Nueva York back for their third glorious Guelaguetza Festival at Socrates and their eighth overall Guelaguetza Festival in NYC!

La Guelaguetza originated in Oaxaca City, Mexico, where every summer people gather to celebrate traditional dances, music, and culture. Each Oaxacan region offers a unique contribution to the festivities – like the much-loved “Dance of the Pineapple!”

BFMNY have been sharing their passion for Mexican cultural heritage and tradition with New Yorkers for over 35 years.

Major support for Guelaguetza is provided by Con Edison and the Mertz Gilmore Foundation, as well as public funds from the New York City Council and Jimmy Van Bramer.
