Artist Amberrose Venus-Gordon will lead a workshop teaching you how to draw people and nature. Please bring a photo of someone or something you would like to draw. All levels from beginners to advanced are welcome.
For your comfort, bring a mat, blanket, or folding chair to sit on. Feel free to bring your own watercolors, paper, water, and brushes. Limited supplies will be provided as well.
Seeds of the League is the Art Students League's community program.
About the artist
Amberrose Venus-Gordon currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. She is a recent graduate of Pratt Institute with a BFA in painting and minors in art history, museum and gallery practices.
Amberrose’s interest in working with children and her sensitivity to them is apparent in the way she records moments in their young lives. Her art focuses heavily on iconic symbols that are indicative of one’s childhood innocence.
Please register at firstname.lastname@example.org. The class size is limited and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis on the day of the workshop.
Please note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we're offering outdoor programs with limited attendance so that you can have a safe and enjoyable time in parks. Based on New York State guidance for sports and recreation during COVID-19, we’ve put protocols into place to keep our participants and staff safe and healthy. We're asking everyone to help us stay safe:
- Please wear a mask if you are unvaccinated or cannot maintain social distance.
- All individuals should maintain social distancing of six feet during programming, regardless of vaccination status.
- Wash your hands before attending a program.
- Stay home if you are sick.
Additionally, we encourage participants to bring their own hand sanitizer to our programming.
Note: Some programs may be modified, rescheduled, or cancelled due to weather, health, or safety concerns.
