Join It’s Showtime NYC! for an all-ages street dance class with a range of teaching artists who perform and teach flexn, litefeet, hip hop and other street and club dance forms. 

There are four dance classes:

Poe Park Visitor Center (outdoors)
Friday, May 28 3:00 p.m. - 4:00. p.m. and Tuesday, June 15 at 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.  

Soundview Park 
Saturdays - May 29 and June 5 at 3:00 p.m.

It's Showtime NYC! is a program of Dancing in the Streets, developed in partnership with the Mark Morris Dance Center, with funding from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the Mertz Gilmore Foundation, Dance/NYC, New York State Council on the Arts, Map Fund, and Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation. This program is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, and by Dance/NYC’s Dance Advancement Fund, made possible by the Ford Foundation.

Please register at The event is limited and participation will be on a first-come, first-serve basis on the day of the workshop. Families are welcome.

Please note: This spring and summer, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we're offering outdoor programs with limited attendance so that you can have a safe and enjoyable time in parks. Based on New York State guidance for sports and recreation during COVID-19, we’ve put protocols into place to keep our participants and staff safe and healthy. We're asking everyone to help us stay safe:

  • Stay home if you're sick
  • Maintain six feet of physical distance between households
  • Wear a face covering
  • Wash your hands

Additionally, we encourage participants to bring their own hand sanitizer to our programming.

Note: Some programs may be modified, rescheduled, or cancelled due to weather, health, or safety concerns.
