Hiking is the ultimate way to enjoy the outdoors and a fun way to reduce stress. Regardless of the intensity level, it is a great way to burn calories and stay fit. Our Urban Park Ranger guides will introduce you to the hidden gems of New York City.
The Alley Pond Giant is one such treasure, the largest and oldest tree in the five boroughs. Vigorous hikes are long distanced, with hills and rugged terrain. For all hiking programs we recommend wearing comfortable shoes or boots, and packing water and a light snack.
Registration is required. To register, please visit the Urban Park Rangers Registration Page. Registration opens on Wednesday, April 28.
Please Note: We are offering outdoor programs with limited attendance so that you can have a safe and enjoyable time in parks: Based on New York State guidance for sports and recreation during COVID-19, we’ve put protocols into place to keep our participants and staff safe and healthy. We're asking everyone to help us stay safe:
- Stay home if you're sick
- Maintain six feet of physical distance between households
- Wear a face covering
- Wash your hands
Additionally, we encourage participants to bring their own hand sanitizer to our programs.
