Community gardens are shared urban spaces that respond to their community’s preferences and needs. The participatory design process allows gardeners to express their ideas and cultural context, helping to sustain their garden space over time. This session will discuss how to approach participatory design in your community garden by looking at examples of community garden design elements and sharing tools for participatory design.
Please RSVP to receive the link to join the webinar.
Facilitated by Carolin Mees, architect and researcher based in New York City and Berlin. Carolin has been designing for GreenThumb since 2007. Currently, she develops the Community Gardens Program for Berlin for the Berlin Senate of Environment, Traffic and Climate Protection in collaboration with the Berlin community gardeners and a team of landscape architects.
