Our Urban Park Rangers hiking guides will introduce you to the hidden gems of New York City and places often off-limits to the general public. On our hikes, you can gain orienteering skills, explore our city's rich history, or just take an hour to unplug from the world.
Van Cortlandt Park is home to a diversity of plant life which starts to become more visible in the spring. Hone your botany skills as we explore plant life in Van Cortlandt Park.
To enhance your experience we recommend wearing comfortable shoes or boots, packing a light snack, and bringing water.
Please note: We are offering outdoor programs with limited attendance so that you can have a safe and enjoyable time in parks. Based on New York State guidance for sports and recreation during COVID-19, we’ve put protocols into place to keep our participants and staff safe and healthy. We're asking everyone to help us stay safe:
- Stay home if you're sick
- Maintain six feet of physical distance between households
- Wear a face covering
- Wash your hands
Additionally, we encourage participants to bring their own hand sanitizer to our programs.
