Urban Park Rangers specialize in the interpretation of historic turning points, both natural and man-made, in our city's long history.
Dating back to 1643, Gravesend Cemetery is the final resting place of many prominent early residents of old Brooklyn. Join the Urban Park Rangers on this historic tour of Gravesend Cemetery and learn about Lady Deborah Moody and her connections to Gravesend.
Participants are chosen by lottery. To enter into the lottery, please visit the Urban Park Rangers registration page beginning Wednesday, March 3.
Please note: We are offering outdoor programs with limited attendance so that you can have a safe and enjoyable time in parks. Based on New York State guidance for sports and recreation during COVID-19 [PDF], we’ve put protocols into place to keep our participants and staff safe and healthy. We're asking everyone to help us stay safe:
- Stay home if you're sick
- Maintain six feet of physical distance between households
- Wear a face covering
- Wash your hands
Additionally, we encourage participants to bring their own hand sanitizer to our programs.
Participants may be designated an alternate estimated program start time due to capacity.
