Rachel Sydlowski will lead you through the processes in creating her large-scale installations. Learn how each immersive artwork is created from thousands of prints and how her interest in decorative objects and historical spaces inform her artistic practice. She will demonstrate collage techniques and tips specific to her elaborate artworks. Participants may choose to continue the experience in a virtual session in creating their own collages through downloadable pdfs made available for this specific event.

All ages (adult supervision for children).

Materials List:

  • Printer (Does not have to be color)
  • Computer that can open and print a .pdf document
  • 8.5x11 paper for printing 
  • Paper for collage substrate (plain printer paper is fine) 
  • A good pair of Scissors
  • Glue stick (PVA glue is also good)
  • Optional:
  • Color or decorative papers, larger paper
  • Xacto knife and cutting mat (adults only or supervised children) 
  • Painters tape 
  • Watercolors, paintbrushes 
  • Markers
  • Ruler
