Join us for a watercolor nature workshop in partnership with Seeds of the League. Join artist Mark Gonzales in the park to learn how to draw and paint using nature as our inspiration. Mark is teaching all levels from beginners to advanced. Come learn about light, color and design while making art en plein air (outside) while enjoying fresh air in the park.
Mark Gonzales was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He received a BA from Hunter College and studied at the Art Students League of New York. Mark has received numerous awards and honors. His work has been published in national art publications.
For your comfort, bring a mat, blanket, or folding chair to sit on. Feel free to bring your own watercolors, paper, water, and brushes. Supplies will be provided as well.
Seeds of the League is the Art Students League's community program
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register, and note that the class size is limited to 15 participants and will be on a first-come-first-serve basis on the day of the workshop.
Please note: This summer, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we're offering outdoor programs with limited attendance so that you can have a safe and enjoyable time in parks. Based on New York State guidance for sports and recreation during COVID-19, we’ve put protocols into place to keep our participants and staff safe and healthy. We're asking everyone to help us stay safe:
- Stay home if you're sick
- Maintain six feet of physical distance between households
- Wear a face covering
- Wash your hands
Additionally, we encourage participants to bring their own hand sanitizer to our programming.
Note: Some programs may be modified, rescheduled, or cancelled due to weather, health, or safety concerns. This even will be canceled if it is raining.
