Join NYC Parks' Arts, Culture & Fun for a Nature Drawing and Painting workshop in partnership with Seeds of the League. Yabella Sielaf will lead the workshop where you will learn the art of painting the landscape in pen or watercolor.
Seeds of the League is the Art Students League's community program.
The workshop will be held outdoors. For your comfort, bring a mat, blanket, or folding chair to sit on. Feel free to bring your own pens, watercolors, paper, water, and brushes. Some supplies will be provided.
Yzabella is a senior at the High School of Art and Design and is planning to go to SVA for college. She majors in illustration and has won three honorable mentions in the Scholastics Awards for Art and Writing. She will show you how to capture the beauty of the nature.
Please email Stephanie.Joseph@parks.nyc.gov to register, and note that the class size is limited to 15 participants and will be on a first-come-first-serve basis on the day of the workshop. The workshop will be cancelled in case of rain.
Please note: This summer, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we're offering outdoor programs with limited attendance so that you can have a safe and enjoyable time in parks. Based on New York State guidance for sports and recreation during COVID-19, we’ve put protocols into place to keep our participants and staff safe and healthy. We're asking everyone to help us stay safe:
- Stay home if you're sick
- Maintain six feet of physical distance between households
- Wear a face covering
- Wash your hands
Additionally, we encourage participants to bring their own hand sanitizer to our programming.
Note: Some programs may be modified, rescheduled, or cancelled due to weather, health, or safety concerns.
