Join NYC Parks' Arts, Culture & Fun for a Self/Friend as a Comic Character workshop in partnership with Seeds of the League.  Andrew Clayton will lead the class in watercolor and pen and ink portraits.

The workshop will take place outdoors. For your comfort, bring a mat, blanket, or folding chair to sit on. Feel free to bring your own paper, pens, pencils, and markers. Some supplies will be provided for those who need supplies.

Seeds of the League is the Art Students League's community program.

Andrew Clayton, a native New Yorker, studied draftsmanship at the Art Students League of New York and aspires to a career in illustration and cartooning.

Please email to register, and note that the class size is limited to 15 participants and will be on a first-come-first-serve basis on the day of the workshop. This workshop will be cancelled in case of rain.

Please note: This summer, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we're offering outdoor programs with limited attendance so that you can have a safe and enjoyable time in parks. Based on New York State guidance for sports and recreation during COVID-19, we’ve put protocols into place to keep our participants and staff safe and healthy. We're asking everyone to help us stay safe:

  • Stay home if you're sick
  • Maintain six feet of physical distance between households
  • Wear a face covering
  • Wash your hands

Additionally, we encourage participants to bring their own hand sanitizer to our programming.

Note: Some programs may be modified, rescheduled, or cancelled due to weather, health, or safety concerns.
