Come learn the basics of health-supportive knife skills, preparation, and cooking technique (saute, braise, stew) through the lens of Caribbean cooking. Caribbean cooking is a rich and unique blend of African, Creole, West Indian, and Latin American influences. With the thought of reclaiming heritage-based diets at the forefront we will do the above while learning to work with ingredients such as malanga, yautia, platano, bayleaf, culantro, coconut, batata, bonaito and a wide range of peppers.
This virtual cooking class is part of the Reclaiming Ancestral Knowledge taught By Chef Yadira Garcia (Happy Healthy Latina), who has educated and empowered thousands of NYC residents and kids over the past 4 years, in community cooking classes, to have fun, explore and eat global, while sourcing locally.
Please RSVP so we can be in touch with the link to join the webinar.
