Local artist Jessica Dalrymple will lead a Botanical Drink 'n' Draw on Zoom, and share her knowledge about both drawing and horticulture.
Participants will learn a traditional botanical illustration technique and sketch live plant specimens. For the virtual class, participants will need a pencil, paper (or sketchbook), and a plant specimen; this could be anything from a house plant clipping to a weed from a tree pit.
Forage/cut your specimens as close to class time as possible and BYOB!
This event is presented by the Old Stone House & Washington Park as part of Regeneration in Place, a series of interactive virtual experiences and exhibitions this spring by local artist collectives Environmental Performance Agency (EPA) and Gowanus Swim Society (GSS) that aim to help us find solace in the cyclical beauty of nature, and look critically at our relationships with our environment and each other.
To join: Visit the ticket link in this invite to register, receive the Zoom link, and to contribute to support the artist and OSH (optional). This is a free event, but suggested donations of $10 are greatly appreciated.
