Celebrate Edgar Allan Poe's birthday with dance and readings of his work at Poe Park! 

Noon to 12:30 p.m. - Edgar, Annabel Lee, and the Tell-Tale Heart:

  • Dance duet set to Joan Baez' musical rendition of Annabel Lee, by E.A.Poe; choreographed by Philip Scharper. Dancers: Elisa Toro Franky, Philip Scharper, and student dancers, followed by a 5-minute Q&A
  • A dramatic reading by Philip Scharper of E.A. Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart."

1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. - Actor Elizabeth Shepherd:

Readings from Poe's works will be given by distinguished actor, Elizabeth Shepherd. Elizabeth starred in the movie, "The Tomb of Ligeia." with Vincent Price. Don't miss this chance to meet Ms. Shepherd.
