The Strasbourg-Alsace Christmas Market transforms Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan into an enchanted Christmas village with their traditional decorations, dazzling light displays, and imported wooden chalets selling authentic French handicrafts and delicacies. Founded in 1570 and with over 2 million visitors each year, the Marché de Noël de Strasbourg in Alsace is Europe’s oldest and most beautiful Christmas market.
Thirty authentic wooden chalets will be selling handcrafted gifts and Christmas ornaments from Alsace, France: genuine artisanal pottery, fine table linens, fragrant gingerbread, jams and chocolates; gastronomic specialties to discover such as choucroute and tarte flambée, hot mulled glühwein, Alsatian craft beers and high-quality Hugel Family wines.
Children can follow Saint Nicolas as he strolls the aisles giving out presents of sweets and cookies.
Visitors have the opportunity to make donations to Children’s Aid.
The Strasbourg-Alsace Christmas Market is organized by the cities of Strasbourg, Colmar and Mulhouse and the Alsace region of France.
