Inwood Art Works is proud to present a selection of short films from our first four Inwood Film Festivals in Summer Shorts! Enjoy a curated selection of short films that showcase the multi-cultural diversity found in Northern Manhattan’s gem of a neighborhood by looking right outside your door. All films selected are made in the Inwood community and by Inwood community filmmakers. Featuring: Say No to Drift Walking by Michael Pizzano, Caleb Vs. Trialagor by Victor Verhaeghe, From Dad to Bobby by Miguel Martinez, Sh*tl*ne by Dennis Driscoll, Timmy Brothers: Water Makers by Paul Riccio, La EntreViu by Beto Cruz, My Head by Alison Loeb, Our Picture by Mike Castro.
Summer Shorts – Monday, July 1, 2019 – 50 minutes. In English and Spanish. (2016-19, USA). Appropriate for Families and Young Adults. Pre-show south Indian dance performance of Bharatanatyam at 7:30 pm.
Film Works Alfresco
Announcing the third annual season of Inwood Art Works’ FREE outdoor summer cinema series Film Works Alfresco! This curated film series focuses foremost on presenting independent and popular films with local relevance that culturally resonate with the Northern Manhattan community. Eleven free screenings, each with live pre-show performances, will occur consecutively every Monday evening at dusk at Gaelic Field in Inwood Hill Park from June 3 through August 26 (including two rain dates) in 2019. Come early and enjoy special pre-show music and theatrical entertainment by local artists!
Film Works Alfresco is New York City’s only English and Spanish language free outdoor cinema series. This important film program expands public access to professional filmmaking in Northern Manhattan and presents as diverse an array of films as the community it serves. The Film Works Alfresco is produced by Inwood Art Works, Aaron Simms, Founding Executive Producer.
