Urban Park Rangers specialize in interpretation of historic turning points, both natural and man-made, in our city's long history. Our Historic New York programs highlight the history and architecture of selected neighborhoods or parks.

During New York's early years, clean water was paramount to the success of our great metropolis. The Croton Aqueduct brought the water we needed to combat the cholera epidemic of the 1830s.

Join our park rangers on a walk through Van Cortlandt Park to learn about the Old Croton Aqueduct, NYC's first water supply system.
