Working with Youth in the Garden

Thursday, February 28, 2019

5:30 p.m.7:30 p.m.

Are you interested in offering young people opportunities to either volunteer or work regularly in the garden? Join us for an in-depth discussion about ways you can host youth at your site.

Several programs, including the Summer Youth Employment Program (with the NYC Dept. of Youth and Community Development) and GreenThumb’s Youth Leadership Councils program, allow for youth to be able to get into the garden and experience it firsthand either as volunteers or as employees.

This workshop will cover some best practices for hosting youth in gardens and also provide some clear guidelines for specifically working in GreenThumb gardens with youth.

Please bring photo ID and allow time to get through security. RSVP required.
