Fort Tryon Kids: Awesome Arachnids with APEC

Join the Fort Tryon Park Trust and experts from the Alley Pond Environmental Center for this FREE nature program!

What is an arthropod? What is the difference between an insect and an arachnid? What are spinnerets and who uses them? This exciting lesson teaches students to distinguish between insects and arachnids based on their physical characteristics. Kids learn what arachnids have in common and see a live tarantula up close.

For ages 4 years old and older.
