Fall Bird Walk for Beginners

Saturday, October 20, 2018

9:30 a.m.11:00 a.m.

Walk through Alley Pond Environmental Center’s trails, accompanied by a member of Queens County Bird Club. Try to spot our various species of birds – both the year-round residents and the multitudes of warblers migrating through at this time. Listen for their songs. Learn to use binoculars and a field guide.

Wear hiking shoes, sneakers, or other closed-toed shoes that you won’t mind getting muddy. Bring binoculars if you have them. Although this walk is free, pre-registration is required as spots are limited. This walk will cover some rough terrain and is not suitable for persons with limited mobility. Limited to 20 participants.

Ages 8 and up (children must be accompanied by adult)
