William B. Memorial Garden Compost Project Multi-day Event

This weather is perfect to begin the William B. Memorial Garden Compost Project.

We are requesting volunteers for the below dates and projects

  • Thursday, October 18 from 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.: Assist with wood cutting 
  • Saturday, October 20 at 8:30 a.m. / RAIN DATE: Saturday, October 27: We need volunteers for the compost bin build. It's a full day (6-8 hours) with up to 8-10 volunteers
  • DSNY Brown Bin and Compost Keeper Workshop: Saturday, October 27 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. / RAIN DATE: Saturday, November 3rd: We need volunteers to assist with registration, handout material and container decoration.

  • Bit for pre-drilling
  • Bit for drilling
  • Clamps
  • Hammer
  • Tin Snips
  • Circular Saw or Miter Saw
  • (Optional) Hand Saw
  • Carpenter's Square
  • Level

All events are zero waste. Please bring reusable cups, utensils and bottles, and food to share.
